Meet The Doctors
Dr. Lorenz Hamburger, DC
Co-Founder | Chiropractic Physician | Nervous System Restoration Specialist |Y-strapper
Dr. Lorenz Hamburger believes that when the nervous system functions at its best, the body is better able to heal, adapt, and thrive.
With more than 24 years of clinical experience, Dr. Lorenz has dedicated his career to helping patients restore movement, reduce pain, and improve their overall quality of life through precise chiropractic care and advanced neurological techniques. His approach is gentle, precise and focused on uncovering the root cause of dysfunction rather than simply masking symptoms.
One of Dr. Lorenz’s greatest clinical strengths is his exceptional eye for diagnostic imaging. He has a true passion for studying X-rays and identifying subtle findings that can easily be overlooked—earning him the affectionate title of “radiology guru” in Dr. Erica’s eyes. His ability to connect what he sees on imaging with a patient’s history, movement patterns, and clinical findings helps him create highly individualized care for his patients, and he does not hesitate to refer out to other Specialists, when appropriate.
Dr. Lorenz also has a special interest in spinal disc conditions (neuropathy, nerve irritation, decompression therapy (disc impingement and bulges), and neuro-integrative laser therapy (healing, circulation, restoration). He got into Chiropractic, because his mom couldn't get up after watering some plants, and “threw out her back”. “It was a Sunday, and she asked me to call all the Chiropractors in St. Augustine. Nobody answered, except one. Dr Ronald Vail, it forwarded to his cell phone. He said “I’ll meet you at the office in 30 minutes!” I had just gotten my drivers license at 16, she crawled on her hands and knees from the parking lot, into her office, and 20 minutes later, walked out back to the car. I HAD to become a Chiropractor, that was it!”
As co-founder of The Hive Restorative Wellness Collective, Dr. Lorenz wanted to build a first of its kind community-centered environment, where he could masterfully deliver his precise adjustments to his patients.
He earned his Bachelor of Arts in Chemistry from the University of South Florida before receiving his Doctor of Chiropractic degree from Parker College of Chiropractic.
Whether he is helping an athlete, an expectant mother, someone struggling with a disc injury, or a patient who has lived with chronic pain for years, Dr. Lorenz’s mission remains the same: “My goal is to get you back to doing things you love, especially exercise, so that you may have true longevity, pain-free, long into the future.”

Beyond the Office
Born in South Africa and raised around the world, Dr. Lorenz brings a unique global perspective to both his life and his practice. With Austrian heritage and a multicultural upbringing, he is fluent in French and German and is currently learning Spanish, adding to his vocabulary every day!
Family is at the center of everything Dr. Lorenz does. When he isn’t caring for patients, his favorite place to be is with Dr. Erica and their three children. He also loves traveling, especially trips to Austria to spend time with family and stay connected to his Austrian roots.
Health and fitness are a true way of life for Dr. Lorenz. He works out regularly, stays active, and firmly believes that “health is wealth.” Whether he’s in the gym, golfing, playing tennis, fishing, or simply spending time outdoors with his family, taking care of his body and health is an important part of how he lives, not just something he encourages his patients to do.
But there is also a wonderfully creative side to Dr. Lorenz. Raised by an artist, he became an artist himself, developing an appreciation for creativity, craftsmanship, and attention to detail from an early age. He also studied piano at an Austrian music conservatory while growing up and remains an accomplished pianist.
In fact, music is part of Dr. Erica and Dr. Lorenz’s love story. When they first met at a seminar, they discovered their shared love of piano and ended up playing together on the grand piano in the hotel ballroom!
His creativity doesn’t stop there. Dr. Lorenz enjoys woodworking and carpentry projects, creating art, playing billiards, golfing, and staying active. His artistic eye, precision, and love of craftsmanship are qualities that carry into nearly everything he does, including the thoughtful, detail-oriented way he cares for his patients.
And one of his favorite life memories? Proposing to Dr. Erica while they were traveling together in Thailand.
Fun Fact: Dr. Lorenz grew up in a diplomatic family, giving him the opportunity to live in several countries, experience different cultures, and develop the global perspective that remains an important part of who he is today.
Family is at the center of everything Dr. Erica does. She and her husband, Dr. Lorenz Hamburger, are raising their three children in Nocatee, Florida, alongside their two beloved dogs and newest family member, a kitten named Oreo.
Dr. Erica has a deep passion for helping women reconnect with the incredible wisdom of their bodies. She believes that, when given the right support and environment, the female body is beautifully designed for fertility, pregnancy, birth, and lifelong wellness. Helping women understand their bodies and embrace their own strength is one of the greatest joys of her career.
At her core, Dr. Erica is a teacher, encourager, and lifelong learner. Whether caring for a patient, mentoring a teenager, teaching a child, or building something new for her community, she aims to shine her light as far and as brightly as possible…helping more people in more ways than one. Genuine care and compassion guide everything she does, along with a belief that we should always strive to leave the world a little better than we found it.
Two extraordinary experiences helped shape that outlook. On September 11, 2001, Dr. Erica was in New York City and witnessed the attacks firsthand, escaping as the towers collapsed. A few years later, Hurricane Katrina devastated her hometown of New Orleans, forcing her to swim from her home and rebuild after losing nearly everything. Those experiences strengthened her resilience, deepened her gratitude, and reinforced her belief that life is precious, people matter, and how we use our time matters.
Outside The Hive, Dr. Erica pours her passion for the next generation into Modern E Manners, where she helps young people develop confidence, character, kindness, leadership, and life skills. When she isn't caring for patients, you'll likely find her with her family, working out, traveling, mentoring young people, planning an event, or dreaming up her next big idea.
Fun Fact: Long before becoming a doctor, Dr. Erica was a competitive runner who competed internationally as a teenager with the U.S. Track & Field team—an experience that helped shape her lifelong appreciation for performance, discipline, and what the human body is capable of.
Her philosophy is simple: care genuinely, keep learning, shine your light, help wherever you can, and leave the world better than you found it. Make your mark.
